Dual Enrollment: Jumpstart Your College Journey and Stand Out!
How Dual Enrollment Works at Knox:
The Course Selection Process:
Capable students in their junior, senior, or postgraduate years can access a broad range of Dual Enrollment courses across various academic subjects. During the registration period each year at Knox, students meet with the Dean of Academics and their academic advisor to explore dual enrollment options. Based on their academic interests, course sequence, concentration focus, and long-term college goals, students may choose to enroll in one or more dual enrollment courses.
How to Register for Courses:
Students enrolling in dual enrollment courses at Knox must formally apply through the designated portal of the chosen college or university. Knox faculty will guide this process, ensuring that each student meets application deadlines and selects the correct course number.
After the application is submitted, additional steps, such as obtaining parental approval and completing payment, are required before a student’s registration is finalized.
How Much Do Classes Cost?
Enrollment in dual enrollment classes requires students to register and pay through each college or university’s dual enrollment platform. The fees include:
- Suffolk Community College – $195 for 3 credits, $260 for 4 credits
- Molloy University – $250 for 3 credits
- St. Joseph’s University – $180 for 3 credits
- Stony Brook University – $300 for 3 credits
*The fees listed are based on 2024 information published on the institution’s website.
How Your Receive Credit:
At the end of the term, Knox faculty will submit final course grades through the college or university’s portal. Once grades are posted, students can request official transcripts, which should be sent to their chosen college or university upon enrollment.
Please note that The Knox School cannot guarantee that all dual enrollment credits will transfer, as credit acceptance is determined by the policies of each individual institution.
